The article below was sent to my by Mark Hyman MD who has website : http://www.ultrawellness.com/blog.
It is interesting since there is a lot of confusion about diabetes and too many people are not aware of the dangers. It is not intended to replace a visit to your doctor but it serves more as a wake up call. We can do something to prevent it and to limit the damage which may already be done. Since my glucose level is close to the limit of 109, (According to the lab which did the test) it certainly gives me food for thought. So, here goes.
Diabetes is not reversible - And controlling your blood sugar with drugs or insulin will protect you from organ damage and death. That is what the medical profession would have you believe.
But medication and insulin can actually increase your risk getting a heart attack or dying.
What you are not hearing about is another way to deal with this epidemic.
Today, I want to review in detail a new way to think about diabetes and next week I want to tell you exactly how to prevent, treat, and reverse it.
Let’s get started.

Have just read a book for the second time, since there were lots of little items in it that needed re-visiting. The Author is John Ortberg, a US pastor and author. The title is “If You Want To Walk On Water, You Have To Get Out Of The Boat”. It is a spiritual book but with a difference. None of the heavy duty dissertations you find so much, instead it treats the walk of Peter in a very humorous manner. It could equally well be called “Walking on Water For Dummies”. As expected, the book is about the disciples sitting in a boat on a stormy night when Jezus ambles by on the water and invites them to stroll along. Only one takes him up on it. And from that point on, the reader is presented with several, sometimes intriguing, stories that show examples of what the writer means. Very well done. There are some sentences in it that are so true, for example “Every word you speak boosts someone’s hope a bit, or kills it just a little.” It is a bit removed from EFT since belief has nothing to do with EFT working or not, it works irrespective if you believe it or not. But the book gave me some interesting ideas for working further with EFT. I will copy a small excerpt further down so you can see if it would be to your liking. And the website for more info on writer is :http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/cms_content?page=587819&sp=1010&event=1010RNF|587819|1010

A few questions always come up when talking to people who are new to EFT. One of them is invariably “Do I have to talk out loud when doing a tapping round ?” Obviously, nobody wants to attract too much attention to what looks like a silly procedure. The simple answer is “No” with qualifications. It will take some practice but it becomes second nature eventually. When I tried to do this, visualizing myself tapping and saying whatever was appropriate for the occasion, my mind invariably went on a walkabout and I was thinking about everything but EFT and my particular problem. Till one day, I was tapping in the bathroom in front of a mirror. Later, after going to bed, I reviewed the happenings of the day and decided to tackle some unfinished business with EFT. When I started to visualize myself, the image of the mirror came to me and it seemed easier to remember the mirror image while talking in myself and seeing me doing the tapping. That worked better and from then on, whenever I was in a situation where talking out loud would certify me as a lunatic, I used the remembered image of the mirror while doing inner talking. Several years ago, I suffered from mild bouts of depression. Nothing earthshaking, no thoughts of committing suicide but it was frightening. In the beginning, they occurred only once a year, lasted for 4 or 5 days and went away without any medication. But as time went by, they got worse, lasted longer and I started to fear them. There was no reason for it medically or mentally, work and home life was great, no financial worries. I avoided medication on purpose although the temptation to acquire get well pills was sometimes overwhelming. After reading up on depression and different methods of dealing with it, stumbled on EFT by chance and tried it. And hallelujah, it did the trick and in record time as well.Which brings me to the news I got a few days ago from Mark Hyman MD, a doctor from the US who is heavily involved with eating disorders.Have reproduced it down below, including his video link. Have checked it out from different sources on the net and a lot of networks have mentioned this problem. Seems that treating depression with drugs or with a placebo has similar results. I am not qualified to point fingers at the pharmaceuticals and besides, these companies spend a fortune on research and that has to be paid. No argument with that. But it suddenly does not seem so silly to try out alternative ways of overcoming depression. However, read the blog from Dr.Hyman below, or watch the video on his site and check it out for yourselves. Why Antidepressants Don’t Work for Treating Depression

As mentioned last week, did not take the muscle relaxing pills prescribed for the back pain and instead used EFT. I did use the anti inflammation pills faithfully, no point in getting pigheaded and refuse all modern medicine or ask to burn medical doctors at the stake. Am happy to say that all is well again, going back to the gym although avoiding any strenuous exercise involving lower back muscle groups. I believe that tapping several times a day helped a lot. As far as experiments go, this one was nowhere near anything scientific and any physician with a bit of experience will probably explain the quick healing and near absence of pain to other causes. As for myself, am glad that I used common sense and tried an alternative for the pills (With feedback to my doctor, I hasten to say)

There is an entry in Wikipedia which gives an unbiased report of EFT(Extracted on 12 March 08) . Three studies were done. Interesting is that in the second study, three groups who used EFT did better than the 4th group , who did something totally unrelated to EFT. This study is questioning the validity of the statement that tapping on meridians is doing the trick. Even more interesting is findings of study three where there is a statistically significant decrease of distress in subjects, which held up to the 6 months follow-up test. The point of this report is that EFT works but nobody knows exactly how. But does it really matter ? Call it pseudo science or witchcraft, if it helps people leading a normal life it can’t be all bad and is worth trying if everything else fails. See more for the full report of click on the site (Wikipedia)

Last Monday, went to the gym to charge my batteries up again after the weekend. All went well up till the moment when in the dressing room I wanted to take my shoes off. An excruciating pain in my lower back stopped me in my tracks. Never had anything like it in my life and I always dismissed people who complained about it as sissy’s. Thought they were philandering and trying to get out of work to be done. Okay, hereby my apologies to those people I accused in the past. It is real and the weird part is hat I do not know how it came about. One moment whistling a tune, next one emitting muffled shouts. Had not done anything really strenuous, expected to do that sort of thing in the gym. Anyway, impossible to do any exercise without making it worse so went back home.Went to our doctor and explained what happened and he was a bit unbelieving, thought it happened while going stupid during exercise. Still, he checked it out. Seems that the vertebrae are sort of locked in part of the spine, due to inflammation of the tissue between them.He prescribed two items, one for muscle relaxing, the other for reducing the inflammation. The muscle relaxant needed only half of a pill, or about 25 grams. I asked the doctor about this and he was concerned about the pain and the effect of the muscles tensing and aggravating the condition. Was curious and thought to myself “If these pills are so powerful, why don’t they make them smaller ?” Then read the accompanying spec sheet, inserted in the box, to see what was in the pills and the possible side effects. It will relax muscles but by doing so it will relax more than that. Seems to be habit forming and it is advised to wean yourself of it gradually after taking them for longer than 3 weeks . So, asked the doctor if I could use EFT for the relaxing part and keep the pills as a standby. He was ok with that on condition that I came straight back to him if there was a problem. I will try it out (The pain is not excruciating anyway). Not that I’m completely against all and any pills whatsoever, but if not really necessary, why bother. Will publish how it works without telling fibs.
Warning: Do NOT use EFT for any medical condition without first checking with a doctor !

May seem like a silly question but there are a lot of people around with pretty big problems and no clue as to what they are or how to solve them.
Answer these questions yes or no, as honestly as you can and you will have a pretty good idea if EFT would be right for you or for the persons who share your life.
- I feel happy at least half of the time.
- In general, I feel that those around me understand me.
- If I get angry or upset, I usually know the reason why.
- I am looking forward to a number of things in my life.
- I feel connected to people.
- I feel that I got more successes than failures in my life.
- I only have a few regrets about my life.
- There are a number of things in my life that I enjoy.
If you have truthfully answered “NO“ to four or more questions you might want to consider using EFT. Another reason that such a talk would be indicated is if you have an intense response to any one of these questions. For example, if you have no idea why you get angry or if you rarely feel happy.
